Job Overview: The Chef is responsible for preparing high-quality food according to menu specifications while maintaining hygiene standards and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. The role requires creativity, consistency, and adherence to food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Food Preparation & Production: Prepare and cook menu items according to standard recipes. Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet restaurant standards. Maintain portion control and minimize food wastage. Assist in menu planning and development of new dishes when required.
- Kitchen Operations: Ensure smooth kitchen operations during service hours. Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations. Monitor stock levels and notify management for replenishment. Store food items properly using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
- Hygiene & Safety: Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times. Maintain personal hygiene and grooming standards. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards immediately.
- Cost Control: Control food costs and reduce wastage. Monitor expiry dates and proper storage of ingredients. Assist in stock taking and inventory management.
- Teamwork: Coordinate effectively with kitchen and service staff. Assist in training junior kitchen staff when required. Maintain professional communication with team members.
