Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer, 42 hours per week from Monday to Friday & 6 hours every 3rd Saturday morning. Based in Beenham, Berkshire, with a salary of £49,686 (plus 15% shift allowance) + overtime + benefits. Overtime is paid at standard rates for Monday - Saturday, and x2 for Sundays and bank holidays.

What's the mission?

Your main responsibilities will be to ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment. You will work on various different types of equipment including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems.

What are the mission-critical skills?

  • Apprentice trained in a similar position ideally
  • Electrical qualifications (C&G 2320 P1 & P2, ONC, NVQ 3, 18th Edition or equivalent is desirable)
  • Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Practical hands-on approach
  • Experience in electrical fault finding, defect rectification, and routine maintenance activities
  • Ability to interrogate/understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information/recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills, dealing with operatives, Team leaders from both maintenance and production
  • PLC and VSD knowledge is advantageous
  • Experience in mechanical fitting, hydraulics, and pneumatics will be an advantage
