At Marshalls, we believe building tomorrow's world starts with what we can create together today. Since the 1890s, we've grown from a Yorkshire stone business into a leading UK manufacturer of building, roofing and landscaping solutions. Every day, our colleagues help shape the homes, schools, hospitals, streets and infrastructure that communities across the UK rely on. We're proud of our heritage, excited by what's next and committed to creating opportunities for our colleagues to grow, develop and make a real difference.
Manufacturing is at the heart of our operation. It’s where we fulfil our customer promise, proudly producing the UK’s leading landscaping, building, and roofing products. Our Pollington site is central to this success, defined by a fantastic team and a commitment to high standards. We’re now looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our site leadership team and help us in driving this successful manufacturing site into its next chapter.
Working in partnership with the Site Operations Manager, and closely with the Site Engineering Manager you’ll focus on driving site operational activities, compliance, SHEQ, and continuous improvement. Leading from the front, you will balance strategic planning with site-wide engagement, analysing production processes to streamline efficiency and elevate standards.
Your real impact will be on our culture. We’re looking for someone who can develop a performance driven environment centred on ownership, accountability, and transparency. To achieve this, you’ll engage the hearts and minds of our colleagues, inspiring a proactive, safety-first mindset across the site. Through consistent coaching and mentoring, you’ll ensure our people feel supported and empowered to develop.
You’ll bring a track record of leadership from a fast-paced manufacturing background. You understand that excellent operational metrics are built on great relationships, combining technical competence and compliance with a natural, engaging communication style. You are someone who knows how to manage change effectively and bring diverse teams along with you.
Mission-critical skills:
- At least three years of experience leading teams within a medium to large, automated industrial manufacturing environment, ideally with a proven track record of working effectively within a unionised setting.
- A thorough understanding of safety, quality, and best practice housekeeping standards, with an IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate being highly desirable.
- The ability to use data, analytical skills, and a strong understanding of OEE to drive informed decisions and track performance.
- A collaborative and proactive leadership style, with the ability to communicate across all levels, resolve issues constructively, and build customer confidence.
- Experience with lean manufacturing techniques, such as DMAIC is desirable.
This isn’t just a job; it’s a rare and exciting opportunity to make your mark, take the next step in your career, and join our industry-leading company. We offer a highly supportive environment where new ideas are welcomed, giving you the backing to learn, grow, and achieve your long-term ambitions. If you are looking for a meaningful career move with a company that invests in your future, we would love to welcome you to the team.
