Ever wondered who is behind the UK’s most famous landmarks? From the paving in our city centres to the roofs over our heads, Marshalls plc has been leading the way since the 1890s. We are a FTSE 250 Superbrand, but we do more than just manufacture; we create the foundations of the world around us. Our engineering experts are the powerhouses that keep our machines running smoothly, and we are now looking for our 2026 Engineering Apprentices to join our team and help shape the future of Marshalls. We don’t just recruit talent; we build it! We have spent the last three years building a proven, structured apprenticeship programme, welcoming 34 ambitious engineers into our team so far. This year, we are expanding even further, hiring 17 new apprentices across the UK. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a successful, supportive community and start a career with a company that truly invests in you.

So, what’s the role? You won’t just be watching from the sidelines; you’ll be getting stuck into the mechanics and the "brains" behind our production lines. You will learn how to master heavy industrial machinery, ensuring it runs at peak performance while diagnosing and fixing complex issues as they happen. It is not all about heavy lifting, though. You will get to grips with the high-tech electrical and software systems that control our sites. Working alongside our experts, you will find clever ways to improve how we work and help us implement the next generation of technical solutions. By the time you finish, you will have the skills to solve almost any engineering challenge we throw at you. This is a real career path with a clear and supported structure.

You will follow a four-year programme delivered in partnership with City of Glasgow College, combined with hands-on mentoring from our site-based teams.

  • Year 1: Build your technical skills by attending college 5 days a week at City of Glasgow College in Glasgow
  • Years 2 to 4: Hands-on Experience at our Glasgow manufacturing site to put your skills into action

The Result: Qualify as a Maintenance Engineer with a permanent job.

Ready to apply? Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above, including Maths, English, and Science
  • A strong work ethic and a genuine interest in how things are built and fixed
  • The ability to work in a team as well as on your own
  • You must be able to commute to the college for your first year and to our manufacturing site for the following three years. Because of our location, having your own transport is highly recommended.

Benefits include:

  • 26 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays
  • Guaranteed Christmas holidays
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • 5% employer-matched pension scheme
  • Company uniform
  • Free onsite parking
  • Health care cash plan – support with Dental, Optical, Prescription costs, and many more!
  • Enhanced Maternity, Paternity and Adoption pay and leave
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Employee discount on Marshalls and Marley products
  • Retailer discounts
  • Marshalls Well-being Centre
  • Share purchase scheme (Minimum age of 18 required for this benefit)
  • Life assurance
