We are recruiting for a Class 2 Driver to join the team at our Gateshead site. The vehicles you will be driving are all 4-axle 32t rigid trucks, which include POD, Auger Tipper and Mixer trucks, all equipped with automatic gearboxes.
This is a great opportunity to become a pivotal part of Marshalls Mortars and Screeds to deliver not only one of the UK’s leading products but also to provide a first-class service to our customers.
You will be the first point of face-to-face contact for our customers, delivering mortar to building sites in the local area. You should have a positive 'can do' attitude with excellent customer service skills. You will operate both multi-compartment Pod and Mixer vehicles, which you must maintain and clean daily.
You will put the customer at the heart of everything you do and are expected to stay calm and professional when challenges arise. You will always work to a high level of health and safety and ensure compliance with specific customer requirements. Punctuality and being an early riser are essential to ensure on-time deliveries.
You will need to be flexible in working hours during the day and be able to work alternative Saturdays due to continuous growth and industry requirements (overtime is paid on Saturdays).
Mission-critical skills:
- Current Class 2 HGV licence with no restrictions and a maximum of 3 points on the drivers' licence
- Current Drivers CPC card
- Experience of operating Mixer or Pod trucks is advantageous although full training is provided
- Excellent English communication and writing skills
