So, what's the mission?
Reporting to the Reliability Manager, the role of the Reliability Engineer is to drive improvements across the engineering department by:
- Monitoring and measuring equipment condition
- Analysing trends and identifying the need for maintenance activities
- Considering production requirements
- Analysing the top losses stats and other related data to identify areas for improvement across the factory
- Liaising with all parties to ensure the change management process runs smoothly
- Supporting the wider Maintenance team with any major issues to ensure continued production
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory, legal and corporate standards relevant to the role
- Supporting all production lines, prioritising reliability-based activities as appropriate
- Reviewing preventative maintenance work order requests via SAP
- Liaising with the maintenance Planner to screen and schedule preventative maintenance orders
- Developing and implementing core maintenance processes and procedures according to the plant’s maintenance strategy
- Continuously seeking to add value, improve efficiency, and reduce wastage through applying lean principles
- Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the condition of all equipment on a continuous basis
- Conducting field inspections on all plant, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems as scheduled
- Monitoring condition predictors, including lubrication for all critical equipment
- Maintaining the SAP master preventative maintenance schedule
- Championing use of CBM tools such as vibrational analysis, NDT, thermography and tribology
- Validating/updating equipment histories and files within the CMMS
What are the mission-critical skills?
- Maintenance engineering background (with a mechanical bias and ideally time served)
- CMMS experience ideally SAP - PM Module
- Experience of contractor control systems
- Knowledge of condition-based maintenance techniques including vibrational analysis, non-destructive testing, thermography and tribology
- Experience of working in a highly automated continuous manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of root cause analysis techniques
