Overview

Birmingham (CV7 7LG)

Base salary: £37,637 per annum

Regional Allowance: £3,000 per annum

Meal allowance: £1,035 per annum

Annual earnings: £41,672 + overtime

Role purpose

Due to continuous growth, we are recruiting for a Class 2 Driver to join the team at our Meriden plant. The vehicles you will be driving are all 4-axle 32t rigid trucks, which are POD, Auger Tipper and Mixer trucks, the fleet all have automatic gearboxes.

Role responsibilities

  • You will be the first point of face-to-face contact for our customers, delivering mortar to building sites in the local area and will have a positive "can do" attitude with excellent customer service skills.
  • You will operate both multi-compartment Pod and Mixer vehicles, which you must maintain and clean daily.
  • You will put the customer at the heart of everything you do and we expect you to stay calm and professional when challenges arise.
  • You will work to a high level of health and safety at all times and ensure that you are compliant with specific customer requirements.
  • You will need to be punctual and an early riser to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • You will need to be flexible in working hours during the day and be able to work alternative Saturdays due to continuous growth and industry requirement (Overtime is paid on Saturdays).

Mission-critical skills

  • Current Class 2 HGV licence with no restrictions and a maximum of 3 points on the drivers' licence
  • Current Drivers CPC card
  • Experience of operating Mixer or Pod trucks is advantageous although full training is provided
  • Excellent English communication and writing skills
