Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Reliability Manager, the role of the Reliability Engineer is to drive improvements across the engineering department by monitoring and measuring equipment condition, analysing trends and identifying the need for maintenance activities, whilst considering production requirements.
- Analysing the top losses stats and other related data to identify areas for improvement across the factory.
- Liaising with all parties to ensure the change management process runs smoothly and solutions are delivered that positively impact the business and colleagues at all levels.
- Be willing and able to support the wider Maintenance team with any major issues to ensure continued production.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legal and corporate standards relevant to the role.
- Support all production lines, prioritising reliability based activities as appropriate, working with the shift teams passing on lessons learnt and gained through an onsite presence.
- Review preventative maintenance work order requests via SAP.
- Liaise with the maintenance Planner to screen and schedule preventative maintenance orders.
- Develop and implement core maintenance processes and procedures according to the plant’s maintenance strategy.
- Continuously seek to add value, improve efficiency, and reduce wastage through applying lean principles, wherever applicable.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the condition of all equipment on a continuous basis.
- Conduct field inspections on all plant, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems as scheduled, implementing follow‑on work orders based upon inspection results.
- Monitor condition predictors, including lubrication for all critical equipment.
- Maintain the SAP master preventative maintenance schedule.
- Champion use of CBM tools such as vibrational analysis, NDT, thermography and tribology.
- Validate/update equipment histories and files within the CMMS.
Mission‑Critical Skills
- Maintenance engineering background (with a mechanical bias and ideally time served).
- CMMS experience ideally SAP - PM Module.
- Experience of contractor control systems.
- Knowledge of condition‑based maintenance techniques including vibrational analysis, non‑destructive testing, thermography and tribology.
- Experience of working in a highly automated continuous manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis techniques.
