We're in the process of growing our workforce to help us build stronger stock levels across our network. As such, we have an opportunity for an experienced Yard Operative/Despatch Operative to join our busy team in Pollington.
Main Duties:
- Support the safe and efficient despatch of products across site.
- Ensure stock is prepared and loaded in line with operational requirements.
- Manage the despatch process by printing loading and despatch paperwork.
- Assist drivers with day-to-day queries and support loading and collection processes.
- Respond to emails and phone calls relating to yard and despatch activities.
- Support wider yard operations, helping with loading and unloading vehicles.
- Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure the yard runs smoothly and safely.
Reporting to the Operations Team Manager, you will work in a fast-paced environment where safety, quality, waste reduction, and KPI targets are key priorities. You'll be expected to follow company procedures and promote best working practices at all times. You'll work 40 hours per week, with overtime available at the company's request.
Mission-Critical Skills:
- Previous experience within a yard, logistics, warehouse, or despatch environment.
- Previous administration or record-keeping experience in a logistics/despatch setting.
- Excellent IT skills - Using Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Good communication and telephone manner.
- Awareness of workplace transport health and safety.
- Strong teamwork skills in a busy environment, with a proactive can-do attitude.
- Previous experience using AX would be an advantage.
