Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer in Bridgend, Wales

Salary: £45,657 P/A

40 hrs per week, Monday - Friday

Shift Pattern:

  • Week 1: Mon - Fri 6am - 2pm
  • Week 2: Mon - Fri 2pm - 10pm
  • Week 3: Mon - Thurs 8pm - 6am

Responsibilities:

Working as part of our highly skilled Engineering team, you will ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment. You’ll work on various different types of equipment including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems, and will be responsible for carrying out a range of planned and reactive engineering activities on site. You will contribute to the overall safe operation of plant and equipment, safety, quality, waste, and OEE targets.

Mission‑critical Skills:

  • Excellent mechanical and/or electrical working knowledge and experience
  • Time served/apprentice trained in a similar position, with recognised Mechanical / Electrical qualifications
  • Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Experience, understanding, and knowledge of the maintenance of a high‑volume manufacturing plant and equipment
  • Experience in electrical fault finding, defect rectification, and routine PPM activities
  • Ability to interrogate/understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information/recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills, dealing with operatives, Team leaders from both maintenance and production
  • Welding and fabrication experience would be beneficial but not essential
