Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) β St Ives, Cambridgeshire β Β£58,874 p/a + benefits (Β£26.96 p/h) β Panama shift pattern Day/Night rotating
We are seeking a hard-working and experienced maintenance engineer to join our busy Maintenance Team.
This role supports continuous production, reduces downtime, and applies a safe, logical approach to fault-finding and maintenance of equipment.
You will work on a variety of plant equipment, including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through effective fault-finding and maintenance.
- Maintain and service electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic control systems across the site.
- Diagnose faults, implement timely corrective actions, and provide accurate plant condition information and recommendations.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to optimise plant availability and performance.
- Shifts and hours
Working 42 hours per week with a shift pattern that covers days and nights, Monday to Sunday (Panama shift pattern).
Qualifications and Skills
- Good electrical knowledge with mechanical experience are essential.
- Time-served/apprentice-trained in a similar role with electrical qualifications (C&G 2320 P1 & P2, ONC, NVQ 3 or equivalent).
- Thorough understanding of the IEE 18th edition and current environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Practical hands-on approach with significant experience in maintenance of various plants.
- Experience in electrical fault-finding, defect rectification, and routine maintenance activities.
- Ability to interrogate and understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information and recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills with operatives and team leaders in both maintenance and production.
