HGV Driver – Class 2
Location: Gateshead, NE16 3BQ
Base salary: £38,767 per annum
Meal allowance: £1,035 per annum
Annual earnings: £39,802 + overtime (paid on Saturdays)
Marshalls is a market leader in the manufacturing and supply of superior natural stone and innovative concrete hard landscaping products, supplying the construction, home improvement and landscape markets.
Role Overview
You will be the first point of face‑to‑face contact for our customers, delivering mortar to building sites in the local area. You will operate 4‑axle 32t rigid trucks (POD, Auger Tipper, Mixer) with automatic gearboxes, maintain and clean vehicles daily, and exemplify excellent customer service.
You will put the customer at the heart of everything you do, remain calm and professional when challenges arise, uphold high health and safety standards, and be punctual to ensure on‑time deliveries.
Flexible working hours during the day and alternative Saturdays are required (overtime paid on Saturdays).
Key Qualifications
- Current Class 2 HGV licence with no restrictions and a maximum of 3 points on the drivers' licence.
- Current Driver CPC card.
- Experience operating Mixer or Pod trucks is advantageous; full training will be provided.
- Excellent English communication and writing skills.
