Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer in Bridgend, Wales.

Salary: £45,657 P/A

40 hrs per week, Monday - Friday with a 3 week shift rotation pattern as below:

  • Week 1: Mon - Fri 6am - 2pm
  • Week 2: Mon - Fri 2pm - 10pm
  • Week 3: Mon - Thurs 8pm - 6am

We are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Bridgend. This is a great opportunity to join the Marshalls family and develop your skills whilst undertaking engineering maintenance tasks and ensuring a proactive approach to prevent equipment failure.

What's the mission?

Working as part of our highly skilled Engineering team, you will ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment. You will work on various types of equipment including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems, and will be responsible for carrying out a range of planned and reactive engineering activities on site. You will contribute to the overall safe operation of plant and equipment, safety, quality, waste, and OEE targets.

What are the mission-critical skills?

  • Excellent mechanical and/or electrical working knowledge and experience
  • Time served/apprentice trained in a similar position, with recognised Mechanical / Electrical qualifications
  • Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Experience, understanding, and knowledge of the maintenance of a high-volume manufacturing plant and equipment
  • Experience in electrical fault finding, defect rectification, and routine PPM activities
  • Ability to interrogate/understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information/recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills, dealing with operatives, Team leaders from both maintenance and production
  • Welding and fabrication experience would be beneficial but not essential
