Glasgow £41,052 (Including shift allowance) plus overtime (£45,000+ achievable with O/T). Overtime paid at 1.35x and 1.75x. 4 on – 4 off shift pattern covering days and nights (05:45am to 05:45pm).

We are recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our close-knit team in Glasgow to help the site maintain its great track record. The Glasgow site is based in the North of the City and supplies the whole of Scotland and the North of England. What’s the role about?
Working as part of a skilled Engineering team, your main responsibilities will be to ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment. You’ll be involved in a variety of engineering tasks, ensuring a proactive approach to preventing equipment failure. Working on various types of equipment including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, you’ll be responsible for carrying out a range of planned and reactive engineering activities on site.
Working 39 hours per week on a 4 on 4 off rotation, you’ll have plenty of time for a great work-life balance! You’ll also have the opportunity for overtime so can increase your earning potential.
What are the required skills?
- Good working knowledge of mechanical engineering
- Apprentice-trained Mechanical Engineer to NVQ Level 3
- Experience in mechanical fitting, hydraulics and pneumatics will be an advantage
- Experience in fabrication and welding would be beneficial
- Team player with attention to detail
- Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements
- Experience in mechanical fault finding, defect rectification and routine maintenance activities
- Excellent level of English, oral and written
