Marley is the UK's leading roofing manufacturer, pioneering the first fully warranted roof system and a fully integrated solar energy solution. Founded in 1924 and with over 500 colleagues, we've joined forces with Marshalls plc, the UK's leading manufacturer of hard landscaping - bringing two strong heritages together!

As market leaders and innovators in our sector, at Marley we're invested in both our evolution and our people. We have an unrivalled offering of products and a passionate sales force. It's within this successful team at Marley that we are recruiting for an Area Sales Manager to cover Northern Scotland. The job has come about due to a promotion, and the patch has been well looked after with some great opportunities to make your mark.

So, what's my mission?

With training and support, you'll have full autonomy to sell solutions, add value, and utilise our innovative products, all under our trusted brand. Ensuring existing relationships are nurtured, you'll need to balance the development of new and critical business opportunities across a wide range of customers. With your passion for sales and experience with specification, you'll be able to run the patch almost like your own business and develop profitable relationships.

The first step will be to proactively identify, influence, and deliver a strong pipeline of projects with specifiers and contractors. Once specification opportunities have been established, you'll negotiate, develop, and implement specific business plans to achieve regional sales targets. You'll be responsible for the promotion of early pre-tender engagement, and you'll prepare and present project-related value propositions and solutions. The job will include attending regular meetings across your region, and the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly forecasts to support with planning.

We're ready for you to challenge our expectations, showcase your entrepreneurial skills, and really create a space for yourself where you can improve on what's already in place!

  • The ability to achieve targets through planning, analysis, strategic implementation, and commercial acumen
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • The ability to support, influence, and enthuse
  • Energy, with a clear ambition to progress and a passion for learning
  • Experience in external sales
  • Exposure to Specification or Technical Sales would be a bonus
  • Experience using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, to develop value-added presentations

In this regional role, you'll need to live on patch, have a UK driving licence, and own your own car (car allowance and expenses are part of your package). Postcodes covered include AB, DD, HS, IV, KW, PA, PH, ZE.

Benefits

  • 26 holidays + bank holidays
  • BUPA Single Cover
  • 36.5 hours, Monday - Friday
  • Employee Discount programme
