It's within this passionate team at Marshalls that we're recruiting for an Area Sales Manager to work with our key merchants delivering sales to the landscaping side of the business.

Mission: To support the Divisional Trading Manager (Landscaping) and wider management team to focus on the key activities, maximise sales and margin opportunities with existing accounts and to actively prospect and nurture new accounts. Actively engage and establish regular business reviews with identified merchant branches in the area, whilst developing and maintaining close day-to-day working relationships with other business functions. You will proactively develop, influence, and manage merchant, contractor and relevant house builder accounts to ensure area turnover, profitability and market share ambitions are achieved across all domestic landscaping products.

Mission-critical skills:

  • Strong commercial experience across a wide number of stakeholders including builders' merchants, domestic patio & driveway installers, and relevant house builders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven track record of growing business through relationships and sound commercial process.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills capable of delivering a message with authority and confidence to an individual or wider audience both internally and externally.
  • An ability to grasp the technical aspects of a product to ensure we can sell on the strength of our products and services rather than price.
