An excellent opportunity has become available for a Mobile Tail Lift Engineer working remotely from home covering set areas across the UK and Scotland. This role would ideally suit an experienced Tail Lift Engineer, although consideration would be given to experienced Mechanical/Electrical Engineers and Motor Vehicle Technicians looking to get into the Tail Lift Industry, who if successful would be given free training if required.

Reporting into the Regional Business Manager, you will work as part of a team of Tail Lift Engineers covering key areas across the UK. The focus will be the Servicing, Maintenance and Repair of Tail Lift equipment used on large distribution vehicles. Our customers are even busier than ever before, so providing high levels of customer care is paramount for the success of our business as well as all of our employees.

The role duties include:

  • Servicing and repair of tail lift, double deck, VBG, Shutter door equipment, limiting costs of stock used on contract accounts and maximising revenue generation in all areas.
  • To liaise with central control and/or the service centre with regard to job start and completion times, downtime and overtime authorisation; cost updates and customer purchase orders.
  • Undertake company training (at our dedicated training centre in Aldridge, Birmingham) and self-development through attendance on manufacturers' courses, company online courses (E Learning) certification processes.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Tail lift or mechanical/electrical engineer.
  • Commercial experience on electro-mechanical systems including hydraulics.
  • Experience in repairing/diagnosing of hydraulics.
  • Ability to understand wiring diagrams and electrical fault finding preferred but training will be given to the right candidate.
  • Welding certification preferred, however training will be given to the right candidate.
  • NVQ Level hydraulics/electrics (desirable) or equivalent experience of working to manufacturers' standards.

Additional information

  • UK driving licence.
  • Travel required, van & major tools supplied along with Company Fuel Card, additional payment for overnight stays (for training).
  • You will also be paid door to door i.e. from leaving your home to arriving back home.

In addition to a competitive hourly rate, on-call and overtime & premium times paid at relevant times, we offer a range of benefits including 25 days' holiday with average holiday pay, plus bank holidays & generous contributory pension scheme, life assurance, a wide range of product discounts (Tooling), work uniform, and health benefits. On target earning between £40k and £50k.
