This is an exciting opportunity to join an established but transforming organisation. As an HR Generalist, you'll play a key role in supporting and delivering a first-class employee experience across the full lifecycle, from attraction and onboarding through to development and retention. Working within a fast-paced and collaborative environment, you'll have the chance to get involved in a variety of projects, whilst we undergo some business changes and transformation. You'll partner with stakeholders across the business, gaining exposure to a wide range of HR activities while developing your expertise and career. The role is a 12 Month FTC, based in Cambridge. There would be opportunity for hybrid working but with the expectation of 3 days a week onsite. Your responsibilities in this role include:
- Providing day-to-day HR support and guidance to managers and employees across all levels
- Leading on employee relations cases, including investigations and disciplinary processes
- Administering the full employee lifecycle (new starters, promotions, transfers, and exits)
- Maintaining accurate HR systems and employee records
- Ensuring compliance with employment law, GDPR, and internal policies
- Managing HR queries via shared inboxes and escalating where appropriate
- Using HR data to identify trends and support proactive interventions
- Reviewing and updating HR policies to ensure alignment with current legislation
- Supporting performance management processes, including PDRs and development plans
- Supporting recruitment and onboarding, including coordinating interviews and managing offers
- Coordinating training, compliance, and career development initiatives
- Assisting with benefits administration, absence management, and wellbeing programmes
- Contributing to HR projects, including organisational design and capability initiatives
- Supporting employee engagement and continuous improvement initiatives
Apply if you have most of the following:
- Proven experience across the full HR lifecycle in a generalist role
- Have led on employee relations cases, including investigations and disciplinary processes
- CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with recruitment, onboarding, payroll input, and HR administration
- Confidence using HR systems and working with data to identify trends and insights
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, coach, and build relationships
- Sound judgement and analytical thinking, with the ability to assess risk and recommend solutions
- Experience supporting change initiatives or organisational development activities
- Ideally, experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or logistics environment
