Marshall Wolfe are hiring on behalf of our large client within insurance. We are seeking an experienced Private Asset Valuation Analyst to join a high-profile Asset Valuations function within a complex institutional investment environment. This role will play a critical part in the independent valuation of private asset investments, including private debt, real estate–linked debt, infrastructure, ABS, and other alternative asset classes.

You will work closely with portfolio managers, investment teams, risk, and external valuation providers to ensure valuations are accurate, well-governed, and compliant with regulatory and internal standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and challenge valuations produced by third-party valuation agents and vendors.
  • Apply appropriate valuation methodologies to validate private asset valuations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and governance frameworks.
  • Build and enhance valuation frameworks and processes from the ground up.
  • Maintain high standards of transparency, documentation, and auditability.
  • Present valuation outcomes and methodology to valuation committees and senior stakeholders.
  • Act as a key point of contact between investment teams, risk, operations, and external providers.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement as private asset activity continues to grow in scale and complexity.
Candidate Profile

We are looking for a senior valuation professional with strong hands-on experience in private assets, ideally including:

  • Private Placements and/or Private Debt
  • Private ABS (Asset Backed Securities)
  • Long-income or long-dated assets
  • Experience within Real Estate Finance (preferred)
Qualifications
  • 8–10 years’ experience in private asset valuation or closely related roles
  • Strong understanding of valuation techniques for illiquid and complex assets
  • Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and presenting to committees
  • A detail-oriented mindset with strong judgement and governance awareness

Location: London (hybrid)
Contract duration: 6 months (potential to extend), Inside IR35
