Opportunity Overview

We are seeking an experienced Earthworks Supervisor to oversee earthworks operations across a range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects in the Harlow and wider Essex region. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands how to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will be responsible for managing site teams, coordinating plant and labour, maintaining programme, and ensuring all works are carried out in line with specification.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supervising day-to-day earthworks operations on site
  • Managing gangs, plant operators and subcontractors
  • Ensuring works are completed safely, on programme and to specification
  • Reading drawings and setting work priorities
  • Liaising with Site Managers, Engineers and clients
  • Monitoring productivity and quality
  • Carrying out site inspections and maintaining health & safety standards
  • Ensuring materials, plant and labour are used efficiently

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience supervising bulk earthworks, cut & fill, remediation or infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of earthmoving plant and site operations
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and programmes
  • Good understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements
  • Full UK driving licence

  • SSSTS or SMSTS
  • CSCS Supervisor Card
  • First Aid at Work
  • CPCS or NPORS (advantageous)
