We are seeking a reliable and practical Handyman / Maintenance Assistant to join our team at one of the colleges affiliated with the University of Cambridge. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys carrying out a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks, helping to ensure that college buildings and facilities are kept in excellent condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Changing light bulbs and replacing faulty fittings.
- Carrying out basic plumbing tasks, including unblocking toilets and sinks.
- Installing and repairing fixtures and fittings, such as shower curtains and bathroom accessories.
- Completing minor painting and decorating work.
- Undertaking general maintenance and repair duties across the college site.
- Responding promptly to maintenance requests and ensuring a high standard of workmanship.
- Assisting with the upkeep of student accommodation, offices, and communal areas.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a handyman, caretaking, facilities, or basic maintenance role.
- Good practical skills across a range of general maintenance tasks.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, decorating, and minor repairs.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
