Full Job Description
Know your API 20E from your API 20F? Understand fasteners, materials and specifications inside out? This one's for you...
You know that good planning in a manufacturing business is about far more than putting dates on a job card.
It's understanding the material, knowing the specification, working out how long a job should take and making sure everything is right before it reaches the shop floor.
That's exactly what this role is about.
You are a Technical Planner who already knows their way around fasteners and, importantly, understands API requirements.
API experience is essential here.
You'll be comfortable working with API 20E and API 20F, creating MPSs and ITPs, dealing with material specifications and certification, and speaking confidently with customers when technical requirements need to be agreed.
You'll be taking a job from requirement through to manufacture.
Creating or overseeing job cards, estimating cycle times and material costs, identifying any subcontract processes and making sure the production team has everything they need to get the job right.
You don't need to be a programmer, but an engineering or machining background will certainly help.
If you can look at a component and understand roughly what it is going to take to manufacture it across manual or CNC lathes and milling machines, even better.
There's also more to this opportunity than the day to day planning.
The business has effectively started a new chapter and is in a good place, which means there is an opportunity for you to grow with it.
Initially, you can come in, get to know the operation and prove yourself within the team.
From there, there is scope to step up and take responsibility for a small team of three or four people.
Equally, they're not expecting you to walk through the door on day one and immediately and manage the whole team.
You are
- Experienced within fasteners and material specifications.
- Knowledgeable in API standards, particularly API 20E and API 20F.
- Confident creating MPSs and ITPs and discussing them directly with customers. xgikmsk
- Comfortable estimating cycle times, material costs and subcontract processes.
- Familiar with material certification and technical manufacturing documentation...
