Willenhall | £55,000 to £60,000 | 28 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays

Most Quality Manager roles ask you to keep the quality system ticking over. This isn't one of them. The foundations are in place, but the business is ready for its next chapter. They've been through a period of change, they're growing again, and now they need a Quality Manager who can bring structure, confidence and direction to the quality function.

The current Quality Manager is retiring after years with the business, so you'll benefit from a proper six-month handover. But they need you to hit the ground running from day one. You'll be leading a team of four, taking ownership of the Quality Management System and helping shape where the department goes next.

As Quality Manager, you'll be just as comfortable leading an audit as you are coaching your team or sitting with senior leadership discussing how quality can support the wider business. This is a hands-on manufacturing environment where quality isn't something that sits in an office. It's woven through everything they do.

As Quality Manager, you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving the QMS, ensuring compliance across the business and preparing for customer and third-party audits. If you've worked within the defence sector, you'll already understand the level of detail and discipline that's expected. API experience would certainly catch their attention. If you haven't worked with API standards, then you'll need to have been a Lead Auditor with strong experience managing certified quality systems including ISO 9001. Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and OHSAS 18001 would also put you in a strong position.

You're probably the sort of Quality Manager who enjoys improving processes rather than simply maintaining them. Someone who builds credibility by being visible. Someone who develops people rather than just manages them. You'll inherit a good team, but there's every opportunity to grow and strengthen it as the business continues to expand.

What you'll bring:

  • Experience as a Quality Manager within manufacturing or engineering.
  • Defence sector experience would be a real advantage.
  • API experience would be ideal, but strong Lead Auditor experience is essential.
  • A solid understanding of ISO 9001, with exposure to ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and OHSAS 18001.
  • Experience leading people and developing quality teams.
  • The confidence to challenge, improve and drive standards forward.

What's in it for you?

  • £55,000 to £60,000 salary.
  • 28 days holiday plus bank holidays.
  • A six-month handover from the retiring Quality Manager.
  • The opportunity to shape and grow the quality function.
  • A business investing in its future, where your experience will genuinely influence the direction it takes.

If you're a Quality Manager looking for a role where you can make your mark rather than simply maintain the status quo, I'd love to tell you more.
