As Senior Quality Engineer, you are the person the team turns to when quality issues start to escalate. You bring the right people together, ask the questions others avoid and keep things moving until the real cause is understood. Not the quick fix. The real reason it happened. If that sounds like you, keep reading.

You will be leading a small team of Quality Engineers and Technicians within an aerospace manufacturing environment where standards genuinely matter. The role has opened because the person in this position has been promoted internally, which tells you a lot about how the business develops its people. You will also be joining a team with serious experience behind it. One of the engineers has been here around twenty five years. Another recently stepped up into a new role after more than a decade with the business. So this is not a team that needs hand holding. But it is a team that needs leadership.

You become the escalation point when investigations need direction, when a customer concern lands or when the team needs someone to step in and take ownership. Some days you will be leading structured investigations using tools like 8D, 5 Why and Ishikawa. Other days you will be speaking directly with customers, making sure concerns are understood and corrective actions are moving forward. You will also work closely with the Quality Manager and step in when they are not available. Leadership experience really matters here.

You will already have supervised engineers or technicians and be comfortable guiding experienced people when problems become complex. The environment will feel familiar if you have worked in aerospace or automotive manufacturing before. Standards such as AS9100 sit at the centre of how things operate, and experience with SABRe or AS13100 would certainly be useful.

The people who do well here are confident in their judgement. They care about doing things properly. And they are comfortable standing their ground when something is not right.

Salary for this role sits around £55,000 to £65,000 depending on experience, alongside a wider benefits package including healthcare, pension and ongoing development opportunities.

If you are reading this and thinking this sounds like the way you already work, this role could be worth exploring. If you would like more information or want to talk it through, just drop us a message or send your CV to the email above.
