- Redditch | Around £35,000 | Flexible Hours | Progression Opportunity
Do you ever feel like you've got more to offer than first offs and last offs?
Like you're capable of more than measuring parts, completing paperwork and handing it over to someone else.
If that's where you are, keep reading.
This is a brand-new Quality Engineer role, created to become the buffer between the shop floor and the Quality Manager.
The Quality Manager is heavily involved in Health & Safety and the wider quality strategy.
What they need is someone they can trust to become the first point of contact for quality.
Someone's got a question on the shop floor?
They come to you.
A supplier or customer audit is coming up?
You'll be involved.
The Quality Manager can focus on the bigger picture because you're keeping quality moving day to day.
As Quality Engineer, you'll still be hands-on, using micrometers, verniers, gauges and CMM equipment when needed.
But that's only part of the role.
You'll work alongside production, support supplier and customer audits, maintain the quality systems and make sure the people carrying out inspections are trained, competent and following the correct processes.
If your quality experience hasn't come from an automotive manufacturing environment, this probably isn't the right role.
Not because you couldn't do it.
But because of what's expected by their customers and suppliers.
You'll already understand the importance of traceability, robust quality systems and supporting supplier and customer audits. That's the experience they're looking for.
They manufacture metal fabrications for the automotive and aerospace sectors, where quality is built into every stage of production.
You'll be joining a quality team of three, reporting directly to the Quality Manager.
If you've picked up experience with ISO 45001, Health & Safety or hold a NEBOSH qualification, that's a real bonus.
If not, there's an opportunity to develop that side of your experience too.
This isn't a management role today, but the business is growing, investing and looking to acquire other companies.
If progression matters to you, there'll be opportunities as the business grows.
You'll probably recognise yourself...
- You've built your quality career within automotive manufacturing.
- You're confident using micrometers, verniers, gauges and ideally CMM equipment.
- You understand ISO 9001 and enjoy working within robust quality systems.
- You're someone who likes solving problems on the shop floor, not just reporting them.
- You're looking for a Quality Engineer role with more variety and more responsibility.
What's in it for you?
- Around £35,000 salary.
- Flexible working hours.
- A brand-new Quality Engineer role where you'll genuinely make a difference.
- Exposure to supplier and customer audits.
- The chance to broaden your experience across Quality and Health & Safety.
- Genuine progression within a growing engineering business.
If you're looking for a Quality Engineer role where you'll be trusted, challenged and given the opportunity to grow, I'd love to tell you more.
