Role Description
This full-time Solicitor role is based on-site in Rochester. The Solicitor will manage a caseload, provide legal advice, draft and review legal documents, and represent clients in negotiations and, where applicable, in court or tribunal settings. Day-to-day tasks include meeting clients, assessing legal issues, preparing case strategies, maintaining accurate case files, and liaising with external parties such as counsel, agents, and regulatory bodies. The role also involves staying current with relevant legislation and case law, contributing to firm-wide best practices, and supporting colleagues to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law with the ability to apply legal principles across varied matters.
- Experience or interest in Conveyancing, including residential property transactions.
- Knowledge of Labor and Employment Law, including advice on workplace rights and employer obligations.
- Experience or exposure to Commercial Real Estate matters, such as leases and property transactions.
- Understanding of Family Law, including issues related to relationships, children, and financial arrangements.
- Qualified Solicitor with appropriate practicing certificate in good standing.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and clear drafting ability.
- Strong client-care skills, including the ability to build trust, manage expectations, and handle sensitive issues professionally.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Competence with legal case management systems and standard office software.
