What You'll Do
- You’ll play a key role in pushing the boundaries of audio processing by combining machine learning with DSP expertise.
- From researching next‑generation ML techniques to training models on Marshall’s exclusive back‑catalogue, you’ll help keep Marshall at the cutting edge of audio innovation.
- You’ll write cross‑platform C libraries, optimize ML technologies for Marshall’s hardware, and support the development of the next‑generation of products for guitar players and owning ML features through complete development cycles.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Write and maintain cross‑platform C libraries for audio processing across Marshall’s product range, and optimize existing ML technologies for deployment on Marshall’s hardware.
- Research next‑generation ML techniques to keep Marshall at the cutting edge, and train models on Marshall’s exclusive back‑catalogue.
- Support specification and implementation of next‑generation products for guitar players, and work on Proof of Concept (PoC) projects.
- Conduct code reviews, maintain documentation, and provide support to the embedded and DSP team on non‑ML tasks when needed.
Who We’re Looking For
You’re passionate about audio technology and excited by the possibilities of machine learning. You thrive in a research‑driven environment but are equally comfortable getting hands‑on with implementation and optimization. You’re collaborative, curious, and committed to delivering solutions that work beautifully in real‑world products.
You Probably Have The Following Experiences & Skills
- At least a couple of years developing and integrating DSP solutions for audio applications, particularly in guitar amplifiers or musical/audio products.
- Extensive provable experience with ML/AI solutions for audio through professional experience or a postgraduate degree.
- Solid expertise in DSP fundamentals and their practical application to audio effects and processing techniques.
- Strong coding skills in C or C++, with experience in Python or MATLAB for prototyping and testing.
- Professional experience with Git for source control, and ideally knowledge of embedded systems, guitar playing, or analogue electronics.
