Right now, we need to strengthen our R&D team in Milton Keynes with a Product Support Engineer who will play a key role in maintaining our existing portfolio and ensuring our products remain in production despite the challenges of a changing global landscape.

What you’ll do:

  • As a Product Support Engineer, you are the guardian of our existing product line.
  • You will handle the intricate challenges that come with long product lifetimes, from identifying alternative components when availability shifts to evaluating updates for new compliance requirements.
  • Your work bridges the gap between initial design and long‑term manufacturing, ensuring that Marshall products continue to reach our fans without interruption.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate technical solutions for issues arising in existing products to ensure proactive upkeep.
  • Collaborate closely with the compliance team to identify and mitigate impacts from upcoming standard changes (Safety, EMC, etc.).
  • Conduct hands‑on testing of alternative components and circuit board revisions in accordance with agreed test plans.
  • Modify and improve circuit board designs using CAD tools to address sourcing issues or production improvements.
  • Coordinate with sourcing and manufacturing teams to specify new components and oversee their implementation in the factory.
  • Document all work clearly, including technical changes and re‑testing results, to maintain high‑quality production standards.
  • Free up R&D resources for new prototyping by taking full ownership of the sustaining lifecycle for both analogue and digital products.

Who we’re looking for:

  • You need to be a methodical problem‑solver who is comfortable diving into and picking up other people’s designs.
  • You understand the high‑pressure environment of mass production and the critical importance of keeping the factory lines moving.
  • You are a strong communicator who can navigate cross‑functional relationships with sourcing, manufacturing, and quality teams.
  • You will report to the R&D Development Manager in Milton Keynes and join a tight‑knit team of engineers.

You probably have the following experiences & skills:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or equivalent professional experience in a similar role.
  • Proven experience working with existing designs and audio electronic equipment (experience with valve amps is highly beneficial).
  • A solid background in a production design team with a deep understanding of manufacturing requirements, legal compliance, and component sourcing.
  • Proficiency in circuit board CAD and a methodical approach to fault‑finding and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of global compliance standards, particularly safety and EMC.
  • Experience in fast‑paced production environments.

Our pledge: We strive to foster an inclusive workplace and we do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, disability, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age or marital status.
