Leeds City Centre | £32,000–£38,000 DOE
I’m working with a rapidly growing engineering consultancy in Leeds that is looking to appoint a Senior Marketing & Business Development Executive as the business continues to expand. This is a varied, hands-on position combining marketing, business development and sales coordination, with the opportunity to take real ownership of how the business markets itself, manages new enquiries and develops relationships with clients.
Working closely with the Managing Director and wider technical team, you’ll be responsible for driving day-to-day marketing activity while ensuring new leads and opportunities are effectively captured, followed up and progressed. The role will include:
- Managing the company’s LinkedIn and wider social media presence
- Planning and delivering the marketing and content calendar
- Developing engaging content around projects, technical topics and company activity
- Coordinating external copywriters and specialist marketing suppliers
- Managing email marketing campaigns and client communications
- Managing and developing HubSpot as the company’s CRM and marketing platform
- Maintaining CRM data, contact lists, segmentation, workflows and automation
- Managing incoming enquiries and ensuring leads are allocated and followed up
- Maintaining visibility of the live sales and enquiry pipeline
- Following up proposals, enquiries and potential opportunities with clients
- Re-engaging previous clients and dormant contacts
- Supporting targeted business development campaigns across key sectors and markets
- Supporting the production of case studies, capability documents, presentations and other sales material
- Updating website content and coordinating improvements with external suppliers
- Monitoring marketing and sales activity, including enquiries, pipeline, conversion and revenue
About you
We’re looking for someone with approximately 3–5 years’ experience within marketing, business development or a combined marketing/commercial position. You’ll be a confident written communicator with a commercial mindset and the ability to build relationships with clients. You should be comfortable taking ownership of your workload, maintaining an accurate pipeline and proactively following up opportunities rather than waiting for direction. Experience using HubSpot would be particularly valuable. Previous experience within engineering, construction, professional services or another technical B2B environment would be advantageous, although this isn’t essential.
Why consider the opportunity?
This is a particularly good opportunity for someone who wants more ownership than they might get within a large marketing department. You’ll join a young and growing consultancy and work closely with senior decision-makers, with the freedom to influence marketing strategy, improve systems and processes, and help shape how the business develops new client relationships and wins work.
Salary: £32,000–£38,000 depending on experience
Location: Leeds City Centre
