We are seeking a Supplier Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of supplier relationships, driving performance, cost efficiency, and risk mitigation across the supply chain. Acting as the primary point of contact for supplier-related commercial activities, the role will work closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful supplier engagement and delivery.
Key responsibilities include negotiating and managing contracts, monitoring supplier performance against KPIs and SLAs, and identifying opportunities to optimise supply chain effectiveness in support of organisational objectives.
The successful candidate will bring strong experience in supplier and contract management, strategic sourcing, relationship management, and analytical problem-solving, with the ability to drive continuous improvement and maximise supplier value.
- Devise and execute sourcing strategies for new programmes and sourcing strategies in support of bids and tenders
- Ability to define and manage amendments to the Statement of Work (SOW), ensuring modifications are clearly documented and communicated
- Identify and select suppliers and initiate business and organisation partnerships
- Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms in support of programme lifecycle
- Lead procurement activities relating to projects & programmes ensuring that end user and customer requirements are incorporated into supplier contracts
- Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services in line with delegation
- Liaise with Engineering, Contracts and Programmes to clarify and finalise final order details
- Examine and test existing contracts for continued compliance, performance and viability and lead re-tendering where necessary
- Identify, implement, track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
- Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
- Contributes to continuous improvement on existing programmes to generate increased efficiencies and cost reduction
- Oversee the end-to-end activities relating to assigned projects & programmes ensuring that selection, performance and compliance are maintained
- Track performance metrics (KPIs/SLAs) for safety, quality, and delivery, while proactively managing supply chain risks
- Identify, research, and onboard new suppliers, including conducting initial sample inspections and validation audits
- Identify vulnerabilities in the supply chain, such as dependency on a single source, and develop contingency plans to avoid shortages

- Proficient in ERP systems, ideally IFS
- Strong analytical and financial acumen, including advanced Excel and BI reporting tools
Education:
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related technical discipline
- CIPS qualification (or equivalent) desirable
Experience:
- Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, or supplier management roles
- Demonstrable experience negotiating and managing complex commercial contracts
