Lead the Race - Private Equity & M&A (PEMA) client coverage strategy and planning specialist. London based international, cross-border role offering career acceleration and high-impact client work across Marsh and Oliver Wyman. Advising the international client coverage team, as well as the Global Head of PEMA from a strategic and operational perspective.
Marsh Risk’s PEMA practice services private capital clients on risk and insurance across the full life cycle of their investments, including for M&A. We are seeking a talented individual to join Marsh’s European/UK PEMA client coverage team.
Mergers, acquisitions, and divestments are among the riskiest and most complex business transactions. Our global PEMA team has been advising clients on evaluating and managing deal-related risks, as well as optimising risk & insurance frameworks across their portfolio companies, for over two decades. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
We will count on you to:
- Be a client executive and business development professional, with a skillset spanning strategy, operations, data and analytics with deep collaboration skills, a client first attitude and ability to navigate multijurisdictional relationships in a fast pace.
- Support the Global Head of the Marsh Private Equity and M&A (PEMA) practice, PEMA’s Europe/UK Chief Client Officer and the client coverage team with team members in all European financial hubs in growing Marsh’s book of business across a wide range of industry sectors.
- Understand the business challenges and priorities of clients and prospects, connecting these back to Marsh solutions, and shaping a narrative to resonate at the C-Suite level with clients.
- Lead on the delivery of Marsh services to clients following sales dialogues, by engaging with Marsh teams globally to execute to client requirements.
- Able to build a strong internal Marsh network, with the credibility to bring colleagues from across the firm to the table for client dialogues.
- Act as a point of escalation for highly complex issues and work to resolve problems efficiently.
- Build client presentations, research reports and engage in various Marsh tools and processes as required to support sales processes and deliverables to clients.
- Take on direct day-to-day client executive responsibilities for a selected set of clients.
What you need to have:
- Appropriate academic background.
- An analytical and strategic mindset, preferably with some management consulting background.
- An understanding of insurance broking and placement.
- Ambition, passion and burning desire to develop client relationships, collaborate internationally, build opportunities for Marsh, and close deals – all with a client first approach.
- Gravitas and ability to lead & drive client conversation at the C-Suite level.
- Comfortable as an individual contributor in all levels of activity – from CEO-level meetings to the creation of PowerPoint documents and Excel models.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally extensively, at times on short notice.
