Our Client Support Services department have an opportunity for a Senior Consultant - Reinsurance Technical Consulting. This is available on a hybrid basis, offering home working for 2 days a week, with the other 3 days based in our office in London.

Reinsurance Technical Consultants are trusted advisors who consult with clients and brokers on reinsurance technical issues, claim submissions and coverage applications. They provide guidance on difficult, complex and unique scenarios, promote technical work products and ensure that contentious claim presentations are positioned for successful acceptance, collection and resolution.

A Senior Reinsurance Technical Consultant makes an impact as a seasoned, professional individual contributor, ready to manage projects, work independently, help teammates thrive and collaborate with stakeholders across the company.

The ideal candidate will have substantial knowledge of reinsurance across Pro Rata & XOL, preferably within Casualty or Property, coupled with proven client facing capability.

We will rely on you to:

  • Collaborate with the Legal and Compliance Departments to identify, assess and address potential concerns, problems and risks that are moderately complex and report back these potential risks to Legal and/or Compliance to facilitate the mitigation process.
  • Interface with the industry and represent the company in client speaking engagements to deliver client services and advance company reputation.
  • Understand, interpret and present routine technical information to Senior Management and company Leadership to facilitate delivery on projects.
  • Manage timely execution of assigned tasks to facilitate adherence to Client measurement Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Provide input for the evolution of the operational model at all levels of the organization to promote new process improvement ideas and solutions that leverage technology.
  • Provide training and mentoring within the team and/or department for all aspects of reinsurance service processing to grow department resources.
  • Handle relationships with Brokers, Clients and Markets via communications, interactions and delivery of technical consulting services in support of the overall account objective.
  • Initiate team and department meetings and activities to share opinions, ideas, knowledge and solutions to increase own understanding and improve the services provided.

What you need to have:

  • Client/Market Facing Experience.
  • Substantial Reinsurance experience predominantly around Pro Rata & XOL.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Competent Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Successful management of workload; with an ability to manage expectations.
