The Product & Platforms Strategy Lead sits within Mercer’s Private Markets business, supporting the development of digital product strategy and platform roadmaps that align with business priorities, investment needs, and client expectations. Based in the Global Operating Office, the role works across business and functional teams to help shape priorities, translate requirements, and support the evolution of key platform capabilities.

This role partners closely with stakeholders across Investment, Data, Technology, Operations, Client, and Sales teams to ensure product and platform initiatives remain aligned to business goals and governance processes. It combines product strategy, people leadership, and cross-functional coordination, helping connect business priorities with technology and data delivery plans.

In addition to day-to-day product and platform leadership, the role contributes to broader strategic initiatives across Private Markets, including operating model development, innovation opportunities, external partnerships, and integration activity related to business growth. It is well suited to someone with strong private markets experience who can lead a small team, work effectively across functions, and bring structure and clarity to a complex environment. Some international travel is expected.

We will count on you to:

  • Support the development and execution of the digital product strategy and platform roadmap for Mercer’s Private Markets business.
  • Translate business priorities, investment needs, and client requirements into clear plans, product direction, and prioritized initiatives.
  • Partner with Investment leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to support prioritization, roadmap planning, and alignment to business objectives.
  • Act as a link between business teams and technology/data teams, helping ensure requirements are clearly defined and solutions are aligned to business needs.
  • Lead and develop the Product & Platforms team, setting priorities, supporting capability development, and fostering a strong team environment.
  • Help manage product and platform governance processes, including prioritization and release coordination aligned to business priorities.
  • Contribute to strategic change initiatives across Private Markets, including platform evolution and operating model development.
  • Support integration activity related to acquisitions and business growth, helping align platforms, processes, and ways of working.
  • Identify and sponsor innovation opportunities, including AI-related use cases, that can improve efficiency, scalability, and user experience.
  • Support external partner and vendor relationships that enhance Mercer’s platform and analytics capabilities.

What you need to have:

  • Significant experience in private markets technology, products, platforms, or related strategic roles.
  • Strong private markets expertise and understanding of investment processes, business priorities, and platform needs.
  • Experience working with investment teams to translate business outcomes and priorities into detailed plans, requirements, and roadmaps.
  • Experience in digital product management, platform strategy, and roadmap development.
  • Experience working on strategy, transformation, or change initiatives in cross-functional environments.
  • People management experience, including leading and developing a small team.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across business, technology, and operations teams.
  • Experience supporting prioritization, governance, and delivery planning in a complex organization.
  • Understanding of AI-related opportunities and how they can be applied in a practical business context.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

What makes you stand out?

  • Experience supporting product or platform strategy as part of a broader operating model evolution.
  • Exposure to acquisition or integration activity in a private markets or investment-related environment.
  • Experience identifying and advancing AI or analytics opportunities with clear business relevance.
  • Vendor or partner management experience in support of platform or data capabilities.
  • Experience working across both investment and client or commercial teams.
  • A collaborative, structured, and commercially aware approach, with the ability to navigate complexity and build credibility across stakeholders.

Why join our team:

  • We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.
