We are seeking a talented individual with strong Employee Relations experience to join our Marsh UK HR Regional Advisor team, on a 12 month fixed term contract. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days per week in our London office.
We will count on you to:
- Under the guidance of the Lead HR Manager, independently manage Employee Relations cases from start to finish, including investigations, performance improvement, disciplinary hearings, grievances, sickness absence, probation, harassment/discrimination, appeals and TUPE transfers. Where matters are more complex, engage with the Employee Relations CoE for advice and support.
- Advise, coach and support UK People Managers across the full range of activities in the HR portfolio, including communications, change management and organisational effectiveness.
- During organisational restructuring activities, coordinate necessary activity to support People Managers and affected colleagues including planning and execution of consultations with colleagues about changes affecting roles or terms of employment.
- Draft and issue formal documentation, including invite letters, scripts, meeting notes, outcome letters and settlement agreements.
- Peer review written documentation for the HR Manager team.
- Work closely with and seek input where appropriate from CoE teams, such as Employee Relations, HR Services, Benefits, Total Reward and DEI.
- Work closely with and seek input where required from People Partner colleagues.
- Support and, when required, take the lead in rollout and delivery of HR programs in-region and contribute to process improvements.
- Ensure that regulatory and statutory obligations are discharged locally including statutory and/or regulatory reporting requirements.
- Support peers and less experienced HR Managers as required to ensure that the team delivers a consistent and high-quality service across all locations for which it is responsible.
What you need to have:
- Significant experience in managing complex Employee Relations cases from start to finish, including investigations and administration of hearings, in particular, but not limited to Grievances and Disciplinaries.
- Demonstrated ability to coach People Managers effectively at every level in the business, including senior executives with varying complexity.
- Exceptional writing, communication and presentation skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of UK employment laws, regulation and HR processes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to forge strong relationships with colleagues in the business and in wider HR, including CoEs and People Partners.
