Responsible for maintaining and expanding a book of business with high-yield and/or large accounts and meeting personal sales targets. Accountable for a portfolio of a mid-large sized team of sales professionals representing a broad region or a mid-sized industry.
Advises the industry or region on organization standards and best practices for account retention and expansion including opportunity identification through targeted market research, quantitative and qualitative presentation development and organizational political awareness.
Develops methodologies for account prioritization and opportunity prioritization as dictated by the external business environment, competitor standing, account relationship status and the internal business strategy.
Approves major account delegation decisions leveraging an acute awareness of external market/industry factors, sales team capabilities, and cross-functional input. Intervenes when conflicts or at-risk status accounts are escalated.
Develops and executes a market or industry specific expansion and marketing strategy informed by insights garnered from team members, competitor positioning, and the external and internal business environments to grow the sales portfolio.
Delivers appropriate custom solutions to accounts and advises on custom solution development for major portfolio accounts that sufficiently understand and address account objectives and expectations.
Manages the performance and human capital strategy, including hiring and talent management for a large team.
Becomes a frequent attendee and participant in industry events and conferences to build up a strong professional network, maintain proximity to the relevant market and represent the Company as a thought leader.
