Role Purpose
The Business Impact Manager plays a central role in the strategic, commercial and operational development of Oliver Wyman’s Transportation and Advanced Industrials (TAI) practice in Europe. Working closely with practice leadership as a valued advisor and connector across the business, the role turns priorities and analysis into coordinated action, strengthens how the practice operates and helps enable its long-term success.

Reports to: Senior Business Impact Manager
Day-to-day collaborators: Regional Practice Head, TAI Partners and practice colleagues, Business Impact Team colleagues, and teams across Human Capital, Finance, Marketing and Knowledge Services.
How This Role Will Contribute to Team Success
- Enable the TAI practice to translate strategic, commercial and people priorities into coordinated plans, analysis and follow-through.
- Strengthen the smooth day-to-day running of the practice by connecting leadership, practice teams and infrastructure functions and improving the effectiveness of key processes.
- Contribute to the wider Business Impact Team by leading internal initiatives, sharing practices that work and helping fellow team members succeed.
Your Day-to-Day
- Strategic and decision support: Partner with practice leadership to develop and implement commercial, corporate and people strategies, periodic planning and strategic analyses. Provide timely, decision-relevant insight and help ensure agreed priorities translate into effective action and follow-through.
- Commercial effectiveness: Help drive practice growth through key account planning, high-impact opportunity management and pipeline management. Connect the right practice and infrastructure colleagues around priority opportunities, creating clear commercial visibility, disciplined follow-through and coordinated execution.
- Practice operations and governance: Enable the effective day-to-day running of the practice, from leadership meetings and action tracking to people-management cycles, compliance processes and practice communications. Identify opportunities to improve strategic, commercial and operational processes so priorities remain clear and recurring activities run effectively.
- Practice initiatives and collaboration: Act as a trusted point of connection across practice leadership, practice teams and infrastructure functions. Lead or support priority initiatives as practice needs evolve, bringing the right stakeholders together and maintaining momentum through to delivery.
- Business Impact Team leadership and continuous improvement: Contribute to the wider Business Impact Team by leading selected initiatives, sharing practices that work and supporting colleagues through learning, coaching and constructive feedback. Help turn useful ideas and lessons into practical improvements in how the team works.
Skills & What You Bring to the Team
- 4+ years of experience in professional services, with an understanding of how a consulting or similarly complex professional-services business operates.
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities, solving business problems and delivering to tight deadlines.
- Experience using quantitative analysis and business presentations to provide insight and support leadership decision-making.
- Ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships and communicate clearly in written and spoken English across different audiences; proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and AI tools.
- Experience handling confidential and business-critical matters, working independently and collaborating across teams in changing business environments.
