Birmingham office, this is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Claims Administrator

We will count on you to

  • Administer end-to-end health and benefits claims processes, ensuring accurate, timely case handling and clear audit trails.
  • Act as a key point of contact for employees/members, insurers, and internal stakeholders—responding to claims queries and providing status updates.
  • Maintain accurate records in claims and benefits administration systems, producing routine MI and supporting reconciliation activities.
  • Demonstrate an advanced level of communication with clients, colleagues and providers, to include drafting letters and emails in a professional manner
  • Take ownership of delivery of tasks and proactively manage own workload
  • Ensure quality of own work through right first-time approach
  • Champion continuous improvement within your team/location
  • Develop and maintain appropriate technical and market knowledge
  • Accurately record revenue reporting activity as appropriate
  • Attend client/provider meetings as required
  • Manage client relationships to support retention & growth
  • Provide training and technical expertise for colleagues
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues, supporting root-cause analysis, and helping refine claims workflows and customer communications.

What you need to have

  • Experience in an administrative role within claims, insurance operations, employee benefits administration, or a comparable regulated/customer-focused environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and empathetic customer-service approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Outlook and Excel) and comfort working with case management/CRM or claims systems.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to comply with data protection and confidentiality requirements.

What makes you stand out?

  • Prior experience specifically in group/private medical insurance (PMI), dental, travel, life, or income protection claims administration.
  • Familiarity with FCA-regulated environments, insurer T&Cs, SLAs, and/or complaints handling principles.
  • Strong Excel skills (e. g., pivot tables, lookups) and experience producing management information or claims reporting.
  • A process-improvement mindset (e. g., documenting procedures, suggesting efficiencies, supporting automation/standardisation).
  • Experience working in a broker/TPA/insurer environment supporting corporate employee benefits clients.
