Overview
In this role you will lead and develop the UK Investment Engineering team responsible for front office investment applications. You will work closely with front office stakeholders to shape requirements, design solutions, and oversee delivery and support of critical investment software. The position blends hands-on coding with technical leadership, ensuring high standards across in-house and vendor platforms. You will contribute to architecture and data flows while applying AI to improve delivery and quality, within a global engineering context.

Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a 6-person UK Investment Engineering team
- Partner with front office stakeholders to understand priorities and opportunities
- Apply AI tools to improve delivery, code quality, and productivity
- Learn and understand investment management, trading systems, and the data lake architecture
- Collaborate with the broader Engineering team on standards and architecture
- Perform technical analysis to identify root causes and enable timely resolution
- Design and implement technical changes across key applications and services
- Contribute to coding, code reviews, and technical decision-making
Key requirements
- Degree in financial, technological, mathematical, or scientific discipline or equivalent practical experience
- Experience in engineering/software development within investment management, ideally with front-office exposure
- Practical experience using AI tools in software development
- Proficiency in C# and Python
- Strong SQL skills
- Experience designing robust data flows and systems
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
