We are seeking a talented individual to join our FP&A team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in London and is a hybrid role that requires working at least three days a week in the office. Reporting to the Finance Leader for Health and Career, this role will support Mercer's Health Business in the UK, working closely with the Senior Business Leaders to provide financial business partnering. This is a 1-year fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.
We will count on you to:
- Analytical/reporting responsibilities: perform variance analysis immediately following month-end; provide Functional Leadership with monthly and YTD analysis of key cost drivers supporting actual vs budget expense variances; review expense allocations and allocation methodologies as appropriate.
- Budgeting/Forecasting: work directly with Functional Leadership on all budgeting/forecasting input, processing, reporting and analytical requirements; perform Excel and query-based analyses of financial data; guide and educate finance peers on the use of global reporting tools.
- Controllership coordination: coordinate with Controllership on the monthly financial close; review all general ledger activity related to the function(s) and coordinate month end accruals as appropriate.
- Manage and deliver special projects: implement standard reporting metrics; partner with finance leadership to assist in the development of an integrated forecasting, budgeting and reporting process.
- Business Partner: co-ordinate and manage commercial finance requirements with Mercer Marsh Benefits (MMB) UK Business Leaders and wider MMC finance members.
What you need to have:
- Full Accountancy qualification or qualified by experience.
- Previous experience within a finance business partnering / FP&A role from within a large matrixed organisation.
- Excellent financial analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Strong written & verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think creatively, highly driven and self-motivated.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
