The Senior Risk Manager will be working with the wider Risk Function in ensuring that the annual Risk Management Plan is delivered effectively and that valued risk advice is provided to the business. You will play a key role in partnering with selected business areas, providing guidance, advice and challenge. In particular, you will take an active role in working with the Marsh Specialty Leaders and Business areas.

Responsibilities
- Take a lead role on the business areas you partner with, including a number of Specialty businesses. This includes providing a risk view at the first line business governance committees and working collaboratively with first line of defence Risk Champions and Business Leaders.
- Share your own perspectives on the key risks facing Marsh in the UK, taking into account your insights from meetings with the business and external sources.
- Lead RCSA (Risk & Control Self Assessment) meetings and other ad-hoc engagements with the business and take an active role in ensuring the risk registers have been appropriately updated with quality information on the risks, controls and actions.
- Produce high quality, targeted (draft) risk reporting for Committees and Executives. This includes well-articulated narratives on key risks, updates on the status of risks, controls and actions and ensuring the information is presentable such that it is suitable for a senior audience.
- Help lead on various Risk Management deep dives / strategic projects, e.g. M&A, control enhancements, and other strategic opportunities as they arise.
- Lead the business on the enhancement of their controls, KRIs and other activities.
- Provide the necessary training and coaching to first line Risk Co-ordinators / Risk Champions.
- Support the wider Marsh Risk agenda as needed by working closely with Compliance and other colleagues in the UK and globally.
Qualifications
- Risk management experience, including involvement in key risk management processes such as risk and control assessments, incident management, control reviews, thematic reviews, risk appetite, development of Key Risk Indicators and producing committee reports.
- Insurance/insurance broking experience, Lloyd’s market, in particular Specialty lines, experience is strongly preferred.
- Some experience in a risk function capacity in facilities and delegated authorities will be beneficial but not essential.
- Ability to work effectively with a range of senior stakeholders on risk matters, with sufficient experience to drive engagement and competency in risk management across the organisation.
- Experience writing high quality risk reporting.
- Risk Management qualification.
Location & Work Arrangement
This role will be based in our London office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
