Director, Legal (Infrastructure & Financing)
A leading global institutional investor with a significant infrastructure platform is seeking an experienced senior lawyer to join its London-based legal team.
This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of infrastructure investment, acquisition financing, asset management and fund strategy, supporting complex transactions across Europe and other international markets.
The Opportunity
As a key member of a high-performing legal team, you will provide strategic legal and commercial advice across infrastructure equity investments and portfolio assets. The role offers exposure to some of the market's most sophisticated infrastructure transactions, working closely with investment professionals, senior stakeholders, external counsel and co-investment partners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading financing workstreams on infrastructure acquisitions, refinancings and portfolio transactions
- Structuring, negotiating and documenting acquisition, holdco, project and multi-creditor financings
- Advising investment teams on debt-related aspects of M&A transactions and ongoing asset management matters
- Supporting restructurings, amendments, waivers and refinancing processes
- Managing legal aspects of portfolio management initiatives, corporate actions and disputes
- Contributing to product development, fund structuring and broader commercial projects
- Delivering practical, commercially focused legal advice to investment stakeholders
- Mentoring junior lawyers and helping develop internal legal know-how
About You
You will be a qualified lawyer (UK, EU or Australian jurisdiction) with strong experience gained in private practice and/or in-house.
We are particularly interested in candidates with:
- Significant experience in infrastructure acquisition finance, project finance or leveraged finance
- Strong exposure to complex financing structures and security arrangements
- Experience supporting infrastructure, energy, utilities, transport, digital or other real asset investments
- Excellent commercial judgement and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to operate independently while building trusted relationships across investment teams
- A pragmatic and solutions-oriented approach to risk management
