Marsden Interim are delighted to be exclusively partnering with an international investment bank seeking an Interim General Counsel to commence by early July on an initial 6 month contract basis. Central London, hybrid working. Potential to transition to a permanent role for the right candidate.
Reporting to the European CEO you will hold a broad role encompassing Legal, Corporate Governance and Privacy including:
- Managing a small team of qualified lawyers
- Senior advisor to the Board, executive management on strategic, regulatory, transactional and governance matters
- Advising on banking, markets and corporate activities, including product, client, financing and strategic transactions
- Oversee the Company Secretariat, ensuring good practice governance processes are in place
- Transaction management and related documentation
- Identify and manage legal and regulatory risks
- Manage relationships with external counsel and regulators
- Taking a lead role as DPO, advising on privacy matters for the business
To be considered for this opportunity you will be an experienced General Counsel, having led an in-house team within a similar fast-paced investment banking/financial services environment, having also been responsible for company secretarial function and acting as DPO. Strong technical knowledge of capital markets, structured products and other relevant transactions and related regulatory considerations is key coupled with the ability to lead and manage a team, working closely with senior management, providing sound judgement and advice in support of business objectives.
