January start for a Legal Counsel to join a global consulting firm on an initial 6 month contract basis. City location, hybrid working (3/2), day rate (inside IR35) with potential to extend. This is a broad corporate / commercial role, suitable for a junior-mid level lawyer looking to make their first move in-house or with relevant in-house experience.
As part of a busy team you will be responsible for:
- Negotiating and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements including NDAs and letters of engagement through to MSAs and transaction documents
- Assisting with any contractual disputes
- Support Senior Lawyers in the team on major commercial transactions, including global strategic projects and M&A
- Working on a variety of employment matters including drafting settlement agreements, dealing with the legal aspects of employee issues
- Assisting on data privacy matters and queries
- Collaborating effectively with the wider legal and compliance team on BAU and project work
You will be 3+ years PQE as a guide with experience gained in the corporate/commercial practice of a highly regarded firm or in an in-house role in a similar capacity. Technical capability in contract drafting is essential in addition to being able to work as a part of a busy team.
