Managing Lawyer – In-House Commercial | London / Hybrid
I’m working with a high-performing in-house Commercial team at a leading professional services firm that’s continuing to scale globally. They’re now looking to bring in a Managing Lawyer to sit alongside the Global Head of Commercial and play a genuinely senior, visible role in the business.
This is a role who suits a true in-house leadership role managing a small legal team. You’ll be advising lawyers and non-lawyers across multiple offices, leading complex commercial and procurement projects end-to-end, and acting as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders across the firm.
What the role looks like in practice:
- Leading and owning high-impact commercial projects from start to finish
- Advising on a broad range of commercial, tech (including AI) and procurement contracts
- Partnering closely with senior stakeholders across the firm on risk, strategy and delivery
- Designing and delivering training for lawyers and non-lawyers
- Setting best-practice standards and mentoring more junior lawyers within the team
- Playing a key role in the firm’s wider risk mitigation and governance strategy
Who this is likely to suit:
- A qualified lawyer with c. 9+ years’ experience
- Background in a top-tier law firm and/or in-house within a global organisation
- Strong exposure to commercial, tech and procurement work (professional services experience is key)
- Comfortable operating at senior level, influencing stakeholders and working autonomously
- Someone who enjoys leading, mentoring and being a go-to advisor rather than just executing work
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys complex, strategic in-house work, wants real ownership, and values being part of a collaborative, high-calibre legal team.
