Global retail and manufacturing business is looking for an Interim Legal Counsel as a lead role for their operations in Italy on a part time, 3 days/week basis starting in September. 3 month+ contract. Potential to extend / go permanent. Remote working from the UK, Europe or based out of Italy HQ (near Verona). Reporting to Chief Legal Officer. Must be qualified in Italy, fluent also in English.
This is a hands-on operational role supporting the local business, working closely with senior stakeholders and being a trusted legal advisor to the team, as part of Group Legal.
Responsibilities will include:
- Commercial contract drafting, review and negotiation
- Real estate matters including lease negotiations
- Managing franchise arrangements
- Litigation and dispute management
- Advising on regulatory compliance
- Engaging external counsel when required
You will be ideally:
- 8+ years qualified (Italy)
- Previous experience as a legal counsel, in-house within a similar environment
- Strong technical skills coupled with ability to work effectively with senior management
