This role is 37.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day. As a Patient Administration Support Officer, you will support clinical staff and senior teams across two sites, managing a range of administrative workflows including prescriptions, patient registrations, record amendments, deductions and recall systems for long‑term conditions and childhood immunisations.

Main Duties of the Job

The primary focus of this role is to ensure the busy administrative workflows are maintained efficiently and accurately. You will work collaboratively as part of a team of nine:

  • 1 Medical Notes Summariser/Patient Administration Support Officer
  • 2 Senior Clinical Assistants
  • 2 Clinical Assistants

Job Responsibilities

To ensure that workflow for the PASO Team is kept up to date and output is delivered on time, supporting the partnership in providing a high‑quality service.

Information Technology

Have a working knowledge of all relevant systems. Ensure compliance with the security policy.

Health and Safety

Take reasonable care of yourself and others at work. Co‑operate with the practice to carry out legal duties. Do not intentionally or recklessly interfere with any health and safety provisions, including personal protective equipment.

Any other duties requested by Partners or the Practice Management Team. This job description may be reviewed or revised from time to time as the practice develops.

Experience

Worked in an office/administration environment for 2 years. Worked in a GP Practice for a minimum of 2 years. Experience working within an administration team in a GP Practice. Knowledge of prescriptions within Emis WEB.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

£25,272 a year – pro rata to full‑time equivalent (37.5 hrs per week).
