Marsden Medical Group is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a motivated, friendly, and professional individual to join our team in a permanent 30 hour role. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast paced, patient focused environment and wants to be part of a supportive, welcoming team.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a positive approach to teamwork. You will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the practice and helping us continue to provide outstanding care to our 22,500 plus patients across our two sites. This role offers stability, variety, and the chance to utilise your skills within a caring and forward-thinking GP practice. The role is 30 hrs per week, equally split over five days, Monday - Friday.

- Review patient medical records and produce accurate, concise summaries of their medical history.
- Accurately code relevant clinical information into patient electronic health records using EMIS Web, incorporating both GP2GP transfers and paper records.
- Apply SNOMED coding standards to ensure consistent and high-quality data entry within the clinical system.
- Maintain strict confidentiality at all times, demonstrating respect for patient privacy and adhering to data protection requirements.
- Provide administrative support to the wider team, including cover for colleagues during periods of absence when required.
- Foster effective communication within the team, contributing to a supportive and collaborative working environment.

- To be responsible for the coding of relevant information into patients electronic medical records on EMIS web clinic system via EMIS Web and Paper Medical Record.
- Coding (Snomed) the information into the practice clinical system.
- To maintain confidentiality at all times, to respect patients privacy and act appropriately in the performance of the duties outlined in this post.
- In addition to the primary responsibilities, the Medical Summariser may be requested to support other admin staff providing cover for absences.
- The post holder should recognise the importance of effective communication within the team.
Qualifications:
- English GCSE A - C or equivalent
Experience:
- Worked as medical summariser or has experience in coding of clinical letters
- Worked in GP/Hospital administration environment
