Overview: Melton is at the forefront of high‑speed food processing innovation. We are seeking an Electrical & Controls Technician to maintain and improve complex processing equipment, working with advanced robotics, PLCs and predictive maintenance tools.
Shift Pattern: 12‑hour shifts – two days (7 am‑7 pm) and two nights (7 pm‑7 am) Repeat cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, troubleshoot, test and modify automated and electromechanical equipment.
- Apply engineering principles to resolve production issues and enhance reliability.
- Develop, track and communicate maintenance metrics to reduce recurring equipment problems.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean or Kaizen.
- Conduct root‑cause failure analysis on major breakdowns.
Qualifications:
- Hands‑on electrical engineering experience: HNC/HND, NVQ Level 4 apprenticeship, BS 7671 or equivalent.
- Understanding of precision instrumentation, repair or calibration.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining automated or electromechanical machinery.
- Knowledge of industrial maintenance, robotics, or process engineering preferred.
- Strong problem‑solving, curiosity, and a drive for continuous improvement.
