The Continuous Improvement (CI) Specialist works within the day’s operations team, leading loss elimination, supporting TPM methodology, and driving the site’s strategy. The role involves analysing line data to prioritise loss‑elimination opportunities, leading root‑cause problem solving on key chronic losses, coaching teams on problem‑solving skills, and serving as a subject‑matter expert on process aspects of equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as process‑area specialist for a defined area, collaborating closely with other sites and cross‑functional teams (R&D, Technical, Engineering).
- Provide TPM subject‑matter expertise and coaching.
- Develop and maintain skills and training materials for operational lines.
- Apply mechanical/technical aptitude, analytical and problem‑solving skills, and clear communication abilities.
- Coach teams and provide effective feedback.
- Apply focused improvement methodology (Green Belt) to solve complex operational problems and coach basic problem‑solving initiatives.
- Lead and coach improvement projects focused on Safety, Quality, Performance, People, and Costs.
- Collaborate across functions (Engineering, Reliability/maintenance, R&D) and manage external contractor work.
- Implement new initiatives and ways of working.
- Create, update and supervise factory documentation (SOPs, 5S, CIL, centerlines).
- Implement activities from site strategy or corrective and preventative actions.
- Analyse data to identify losses and their sources.
- Implement and supervise tools/systems for measuring, controlling and improving production‑line efficiency.
- Verify effectiveness of improvement projects and benefits.
- Participate in and coach Factory Management Operations System, own performance KPIs.
- Manage contractors, use MS Office and SAP, and support digitalisation and automation (preferred).
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years experience in a TPM manufacturing environment.
- Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or a related technical field.
- Formal qualification in Six Sigma or similar problem‑solving methodology.
- Certified trainer or proven ability to train associates.
