Electrical & Controls Technician Location: Melton Mowbray, United Kingdom. Salary range: £54,700 – £59,100 (including shift allowances, DOE). Additional compensation includes a £5,000 Welcome Bonus, an 8% Performance Bonus and Exceptional Benefits.
Shift Pattern: 12 hour shifts 7 am – 7 pm for 2 consecutive days, 7 pm – 7 am for 2 consecutive nights, 4 days off after each 4‑day cycle.

Role Overview: Your main responsibilities will focus on ensuring the safe and reliable operation of complex process equipment. You will start with equipment troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance, then transition to preventive maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair, adjust, and maintain processing, filling, conveying, and packaging machinery.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues applying mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
- Develop, track, and communicate maintenance metrics to reduce recurring equipment problems.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen.
- Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis on major breakdowns and recurring problems.
What We're Looking For:
- Practical electrical engineering skills, validated via HNC/HND (NVQ Level 4 apprenticeship) or BS 7671 certifications, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
- Understanding of precision instrumentation, repair, calibration, or experience with similar technical equipment.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities, curiosity, and a drive to improve processes and efficiency.
- Ability to adapt to various electrical power supplies and control systems with willingness to learn new technologies.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining automated or electromechanical machinery, or background in industrial maintenance, robotics, or process engineering.
